It's All About The Good Luck KISS...And COOKIES!

This week was a big week...it was the Homecoming game and first District game. We needed a win. Bad! Since it was Homecoming week I told Coach that the boys deserved cookies. This is what they needed if we wanted a win. Plus I missed baking. So, he gave in and said I could bake. Lukella go to school Monday, Tuesday and Fridays. Wed. was a rainy day so I decided to start baking early in the day. With a little help from Lukella. We started around 9:30 and we were totally done around 5ish. There were a few breaks to play, eat and nap. On Thursday Lukella and I met some friends at the Zoo then came home to pack about 80 cookies bags in a duffle bag to deliver to the team after practice. The tags this week said FIST and Romans 5:1-2. FIST because Coach talked to the team about coming together as one and being a FIST. Lets hit em' hard Coach! Good stuff! After we handed out cookies, cookie girl stole the Coach's car, stopped to get a Pumpkin Spice Latte and it was my night off getting my hair did :)

Friday was Game Day. And we were ready! I had a client early so Coach brought Lukella to school before heading to work. When I was finished with my client I had a lunch date with Fon at BW3's. It was fabulous! We both had wraps and they were delish! Also talked about our game plan. After I picked up Lukella from school we headed home for some quick naps. Then I brought them to CAL's Homecoming parade. They had lots of fun catching lots of candy. After the parade I zoomed them home with the sitter and zoomed back to the game to get my teams water and Gatorade ready.

There was a ton of people at the game. I mean A LOT! There is a local orthodontist, that for the past 3 years, has given out free sweatshirts. To the first 1,000 people. That's right over ONE THOUSAND FREE sweatshirts!!! So incredibly NICE!!! It was so cool seeing everybody at the game in their grey and red hoodies. And he personalizes the back. We even got one for Lukella. How cute are these hoodies...and kids ;)

I was filling up my cups when I noticed the Coach and his Senior captains coming out to do the coin toss. Then Coach walked straight up to me and gave me that good luck kiss! YES! Now this is going to be a good game.
I also knew the field and near the water station was going to be muddy due to all of the rain the night before and half of game day. So I wore my red and black polka dot rain boots with my sparkle t-shirt and visor. Some of the coaches were cracking jokes at my boots but by the time the game started I knew that they were secretly wishing they were wearing my cute boots. Their pretty white tennis were nasty...and the game hadn't even started! It was pretty chilly out this game. The Refs were horrible....what's new?! This game was all about our defense. They played amazing! Our offense wasn't clicking for some reason. It was just an off night. But our Running Back had a great game. Like I said before I love standing on the sideline and getting to see everything up close. Now there were 2 plays I saw with my eyes where the opposing receiver dropped a pass and the Ref said they caught it. Unbelievable! If I catch something like that and the Refs don't....that is BAD! That was just 2 of the many calls that were quite annoying. Very frustrating. At half the score was 7 to 7. I was so nervous about this game that after lunch I didn't eat anything else. Well, now my stomach was starting to rumble. Some of the sweet ladies that work in the concession stand came and delivered me some nachos with jalapenos and a Diet Coke. So yummy! Hit the spot and I was ready to fill up cups and water bottles for the second half.

The second half our defense was still playing strong and our offense was still a little off for some reason. The final score ended up being 14 to 7. Phew! Close one! We ended up just kneeling the ball at the end and took our WIN! One TD was a run and the other was about a 30 yard pass. Pretty pass and catch to put us ahead of W. Washington and win. I was really happy for our kicker. He is a Senior and he has never played football. This is his first year because he has always played soccer. I always scream my head off for him when he is in the game. I was SO proud of him for making his extra points after our two TD's. I even went up to him and told him I was proud of him. And then I felt like I was his Momma!

During the game I cheer. LOUD. Most players are looking at me like I'm nuts but I. Don't. Care. Our fans are pretty calm. I told Coach I want a white towel next game so I can stand up on the bench and swing it in the air. It's a football game peeps. Get with it...YELL!!!! Maybe they are yelling but I don't hear it. Maybe to them I am just a loud, obnoxious Southern Water Girl! But they know that I really love my football!

Our record right now is 2-3. We play Friday night at Shawnee. Now everyone keeps telling me this is in a bad area of town. Like some Coaches aren't letting their wives go to the game. WHAT??? I keep reminding them that I think everyone is going to be ok. When we lived in Baton Rouge we went to the Dream Center which is an inner city church. Pastored by the fabulous Craig and Hope Boutte. We all lived. Although I have to admit I was slouching down in the pew almost every week. I felt safer that way for some reason. Then when the Coach was playing high school football and the W.G. was cheering him on, we had plenty of games in the not so safe areas. As a matter of fact I got egged at one of those games with my fellow cheerleaders. Yummy. Anyways, my brother Paul and his family will be getting here tmw and we can NOT WAIT! SO excited! They are also bringing two Dream Center boys with them. Erick and Derrick. We are going to have lots of FUN!

Coach is at practice and Lukella are napping. Once Coach gets home I will add the link for the stats of this game and the last one. Off to cook some Jambalaya and head to the J.V. football game...GO CAL!!!

Lots of Love,
The Le4s

I realized after this game that maybe winning and losing isn't all about what I wear. Maybe it is about the visor, good luck cookies...and good luck kiss!!!

Uh oh...Coach forgot to kiss his Water Girl!

OK, I did everything exactly the way I did for the first game. Same jeans, flip flops, hair in pony tail with visor. I had a pretty good feeling we were gonna win this game! Couldn't find a sitter for Lukella because it was a Saturday game and most of them had activities. Oh gosh! Thank goodness my parents were in town to help out at the game. And thank goodness it was a day game! It was another beautiful day for some football. Perfect! As I got Lukella settled in the stands with Honey and Poppy I started to walk towards my Gatorade station. One of the Coach's yelled "Happy Birthday Momma!". Thanks! I guess a Mom over heard and was like, "Ohhh I didn't know it was your birthday! Happy Birthday! How old are you? 35? 36? Sorry I work with so many different aged girls I have no idea". ME: "Um, NO! I am 31! How old are you again? 60?". Ok, I didn't really say that but...SERIOUSLY? OMGosh. I was thinking about how happy I was that I bought some wrinkle cream....and that it had better work...ASAP!
As the game was about to start the head trainer told me Happy Birthday and asked how old I was. I told her 31. She said "No way!". I was thinking great, she must think I'm 40. She said she thought I was around 27. OK OK that was NICE! I will be sure to get her extra cookies next time I bake...but it is not looking good for that other lady and cookies ;)

Once the game started I was thinking how Coach never came and gave me a good luck kiss! OH NOOO! Not good! You all know how superstitious I am. Since game 1 Coach has come to give me a kiss right before kick off....but not this game. He must have forgotten! Shoot! I didn't think it was that big of a deal but I guess it was. Oh yeah, and the cheerleaders weren't at the game so I was not only the W.G. but also the cheerleader! Goodness gracious my throat was killing me after the game. Even Coach told me he heard me yell "COME ONNN D!". I was so happy he could hear my loud and beautiful voice.

Back to the game. We started off pretty good. Lukella were having fun playing with Honey and Poppy and running to me to help with the water. Awesome! Then, Ella decided she wanted to stay with me a while...and drink some Gatorade....a lot of it! I seriously think she drank as much Gatorade as some of those Lineman. She was enjoying sitting on the bench, drinking Gatorade and staring at the fans. That's right, she didn't want to watch the game. She wanted to watch the fans. And I think she was enjoying the attention of fans saying "Ohhh she is too cute!". Oh yeah, she is smarter than most of us give her credit for. The little grin with her big brown eyes scanning the crowd and her ears ready to receive all of the sweet comments. She is a hoot! I seriously missed most of the first half doing water and getting Miss E some Gatorade.

Here is a picture I took of Ella during the game. You have to admit she's pretty darn cute!

When I looked at the scoreboard at the half it read 28 - 14...and we weren't winning. Then the second half was just awful. Bless their hearts. The final score was 42 - 21 =(. Another sad game. I told Coach after the game that I didn't care anymore but that I was baking cookies for the team this Friday. It is Homecoming week and I think they deserve some. Plus, those boys are so nice to the W.G. They are ALWAYS so polite and telling me "Thank You" for giving them water and most of the time out breath while doing so. How sweet is that!?!

On the way home we picked up some pizza to eat while we watched the CARDS vs cats game. It was my parents last night in Lousiville =( When Stefan got home from the game he told me he knew what went wrong... that he forgot to come and kiss me before the game!!!! I KNEW IT!!!! Next game I will make sure EVERYTHING goes right. Friday is also our first District game. I say we go undefeated in District. We can do it! Stay positive peeps! I have faith in my Coach and his team!

Even though CAL couldn't pull out a win our CARDS did! Woohoo! It was such a great game. So proud of those CARDS! My parents left Sunday morning and we already miss them. We had so much fun these last two weeks with them. Can't wait to see them again when we go to State =)

My Birthday

If anyone really knows me they know that I LOVE birthdays! I just love to celebrate! So, yesterday was my birthday and it was FABULOUS! My wonderful mother woke up early, went to Starbucks to get me a Pumpkin Spice Latte (mmm) and breakfast burritos for everyone. My favorites! SO sweet of her. I heard her trying to sneak out of the back door and realized she was probably going to get me something. So, I stayed up and prayed that she knew where she was going and that she wouldn't hit a deer ;)

Lukella gave me some spa booties which are the BEST! You warm them up in the microwave and put them on your feet and relax. Ahhhh. And they have a Lavender scent. My favorite! Stefan brought the kids to school because I had a client. When my client got here she had some cookies for me that she bought at Homemade Pie Kitchen. So sweet! I was already feeling the love and it was only 10:30! After I trained my client my Mom and I went to eat some lunch and get Lukella from school. Luke told his Teacher that it was my birthday and he wanted to make me a birthday card. Then, all of the kids in his class decided they wanted to make me a card too...but they ran out of time. It was still a sweet thought.

We came home to rest and do some Pilates with Honey and Poppy. After our session we all got dressed and waited for Stefan to get home from practice....and then we were on our way to a Hibachi Grill. It was so yummy and Lukella loved it! So fun! After dinner we headed to Homemade Pie Kitchen for pie, cup cakes and ice cream. Yumo! It was a great way to end to my birthday with my 3 loves and my sweet sweet parents!!!

Stefan gave me a gift certificate to go and spend the day at a spa here in Louisville. I can't wait to go! He is the BEST!

Picture taken at Homemade Pie Kitchen. I am now 31 and every year my birthday gets better and better. Getting old isn't so bad when you get to celebrate it with the people that love you the most! Should have gotten a pic with my parents but there was no one around! Booo!

Getting ready to head out for Coach's game! This is the only day game so we decided to bring Lukella. After CAL's game we are going to zoom home to catch the CARDS vs the cats! Hopefully this will be a great day for some W's!

GO CAL and GO CARDS!

Have a GREAT Saturday =)

Lots of Love,
The Le4s

P.S. Thanks to everyone who sent me a birthday email, text message or message on Facebook! You all made my day and have no idea how much I loved getting those messages =)

Luke LOVES Basketball

Luke absolutely loves his basketball. He has been practicing his dribbling skills all around our house...a lot. Stefan has also showed him some Pistol Pete videos which he thinks is cool. Here is a video of Luke dribbling around a little course Stefan made for him. For four I would have to say he is quite impressive....but I am his Mother ;)

Stefan put this video on Facebook but this is for all of our friends and family who aren't on there =)

Cookie Girl

When Stefan got the coaching job at CAL I knew right away I was going to want to make cookies for the team. When he started his two years at UofL I always made cookies for his O-Line, Wide Receivers, Running Backs and some of the Defensive players. I looked forward to it every week and loved doing it. I just wish I could have done it for the whole team. I would give each player 7 cookies and Stefan would get 17 good luck cookies. Every game. Stefan's were different from the other players because he was special. I would make him peanut butter ritz cookies dipped in chocolate. Don't worry, he never ate all of them by himself. He would share some with his roommate. The night before home and away games he would spend the night with the team at a hotel and that is when he would hand out the cookies. I am sure he enjoyed that ;)

When I decided to bake cookies for CAL's football team I knew that I couldn't pick just starters like I did in college. And I knew I couldn't give them each 7 cookies. 54 players x 7 cookies = one CRAZY cookie girl. So, I decided to bake cookies for all 54 guys but they would get 2 cookies each. Of course, I had to add the coaching staff, trainers and some of the people Stefan work with. So we are talking about hmmm 75 bags. Which means I bake about 180ish cookies because Stefan always gets a whole batch to himself in his cookie jar =)

We came up with a rule that the team will only get cookies when they WIN! Luke really LOVED this rule! On Mondays is when I work on the tags. Printing them out, punching them out and putting the RED string through the holes. Then, the first week I decided to try and make my batches of cookie dough a head of time. I made all of the dough and stuck it in the fridge over night. Practice on Wednesdays is cut short because of Church. So, Wednesdays are my bake nights while Lukella have fun one on one time with their Dad...which usually involves playing tackle! Thursdays is when Lukella hand the cookies out to the team after their practice.
In college I just bought the rolls of Pillsbury cookie dough and baked. The players LOVED them and would always ask me for my recipe...and I would just tell them it was a secret ;) Stefan is a huge fan of chocolate chip cookies. I mean HUGE! My cousin, Mignon, told me about the Nestle Toll House recipe. Baked them once and ever since then it has been that homemade chocolate chip recipe in the Le4s house! But I always add a ton more of chocolate chips then what it calls for....mmmm!

Here is a picture of my packaged cookies for week 1! The package looked the same for week 2! But I have a different saying on the tags each game:

Week 1: "WON'T BE BEAT! Phil. 4:13 Good Luck!"

After we beat LCA a Mom of a player came up to me and told me how her son just loved my cookies. She said she then asked him if they were good as his Momma's and all he could say was "Mom, hers were REALLY good!". Bless her heart. I should have just told her I use the recipe on the back of the Nestle Toll House bag ;))

Since they won week 1 I made cookies for week 2. Tag said:

"PROTECT THIS HOUSE! Good Luck! Isaiah 40:31"

For week two I did not make my dough ahead of time and I was up from around 5:30 until midnight baking. Might go back to my routine of week 1 ;)

Here is sweet Ella handing out the bags to all of the players. She is waiting outside of the Coaches office for the players. So cute!

Now it has been a few weeks since I have baked them some cookies. I miss it. We need a WIN this Saturday so I can get to baking again. We play Saturday at 1 in Indiana. Then Saturday night at 7 is the big UofL vs. UK game in Lexington. This will be a fun football day and night. We are all so happy Honey and Poppy are here with us right now. We are all having tons of fun and tomorrow we are headed to the Zoo! We can't wait!

Hope everyone has had a Wonderful Wednesday!

Lots of Love,
The Le4s

Game #2

Every week Stefan gets one free meal from BW3's since he is a high school football Head Coach. But only during football season. Every Friday Lukella and I meet up with Stefan at lunch time. Wherever. This is for them to see Dad and Dad to see them because he won't see them until Saturday morning for a second and then he's out of the door for practice. For game #2 Lukella and I decided to meet Stefan at B dubs. We had a nice lunch and the kids got all of their high fives, good luck hugs and kisses in. People always ask me why I don't bring them to games. Here ya go peeps:
1. Ella usually falls asleep with the sitter before kick off or right after. Kick off is at 7:30.
2. Lukella are more interested in running up and down the stairs of the stadium than watch football. They don't care about football. I do :)
3. I am the Water Girl and there is no way I am chasing Ella around on the sideline the whole game telling her to sit still and not run out onto the field ;)
That's all!

For this game I was ready for a CAL t-shirt but I wanted a super cute one! And NOT a blue one. We are that yucky UK blue and pretty UofL red. I came across www.sparklemoms.com. Ahhh SPARKLES! Just what a W.G. needs to feel special. I put my order in a few weeks before game #2 and my Mom and Jeri Ann made it happen! Yall are awesome!

I got to the game in my football gear and new t-shirt. Another great night for football! Gosh, I just LOVE Louisville weather. Amazing! Some of the things people said to me before the game:
"Love your shirt! So sparkly and cute!". Thanks lady!
"Do you have any kids on the team." High School Asst. Trainer.
Me: "Yes, I do have kids...AT HOME!" I was thinking of saying "I'm not 40...I'm 30!".
Then, a little cute lady that works with Stefan started running toward me by my water station...talking super fast:
"Me and all of my friends were wondering who that cute little teenage W.G. was! We didn't realize it was the Coach's wife. I met Stefan. You have 4 kids right?"
Me: "Nooooo! We have 2!". But thanks for thinking I was a teenager =)
100 mph lady, "Ohhh that's right! He said you wanted more! You want more right? Like 4? He said 4!"
I couldn't get a word in because she was so excited I wanted 4 kids! Did Stefan really tell her this? No way! I couldn't tell her she was wrong so I just smiled and nodded while my stomach turned. People: we are good with TWO!!!

As I got the water and Gatorade ready to go I looked up and saw a cute, feisty 10 year old girl who was ready to help me. And she told me she was willing to run out on the field during time-outs. Awesome! She was our Offensive Coordinators daughter. And at this point I had NO idea how much she would make me laugh. Now being a W.G. is pretty serious stuff. No chatting with players. Go about your water business and zip it. Although I have to say most of these players are so polite and tell me "Thank You" a lot. After I told W.G. 2 the rules she was good to go. The first player to approach her was greeted with this:
"We gonna win the game right?". She was holding onto the water bottle until he answered.
"That's the plan!" said the player reaching for the water bottle. Then she gave him the water. She was copying the cheerleaders and dancing like crazy. Yelling at the players "Don't be SAD be GLAD!" "Come on boyyysss!! Yall can do it!". Oh yeah, I could not help but laugh. She was too cute to remind her of the rules. The game was a close game...again. During this game Coach wasn't as feisty. After the first game I told him he might of wanted to simmer down a little. And he did. So I guess he does take advice from his W.G. after all. He was a lot more calm than game #1. Like I said another close game. But this time we lost. As I watched the Coach run off the field with his team to the locker room, I was wishing I was running with them. Always curious what will be said after a win or a loss. I know I know...I'm one nosy W.G. But I knew I could always ask what was said when he got home. One advantage to being married to the Head Coach ;) I had a water station to clean up anyways.

As I was waiting outside for the Coach I was approached by a players Father. He was telling me that his son is so tight and has a slight case of scoliosis. He wants me to work with him in the off season. This brought a huge smile to my face. When I first began my journey as a Pilates Instructor I had no idea how beneficial it was for people. It is not just a work out for Mom's who just had babies. So when I started I realized how bad athletes needed to be doing Pilates. One of my goals with becoming certified was to work with athletes. Now it looks like I will be working with some football players in the off season and I am so excited. Since I had to do a 45 hour project with Coach before getting certified he saw first hand how awesome Pilates is. He just wishes he had been doing it his whole football career. Since the Coach is sold that is great for me!

After the loss. So sad. But isn't my shirt so cute?!? BTW the first game I wore the visor with a pony tail. This game I decided to wear my hair down. I thought it was the visor that was bad luck so I ditched it for game #3! Now I realize it is not the visor...I need the visor with the pony tail! Coach was right all along! He told me to stay the way I was from Game #1 but I didn't listen. Next game it is back to the way things were. Sorry, I told yall I was superstitious ;)

How cute is this pic!?! I took it at CAL's JV game the week of game #3! Lukella loved standing on the sidelines by their Daddy! I have to say it did make me a tad bit nervous. See, even though they don't get to enjoy Friday night games they are around football a lot! So, don't feel bad ;)

Since I am giving you the view of the game through the eyes of just me...the W.G.....here is a link to all of the stats of the game:

Lukella's first day of school

Lukella had their first day of school yesterday. We say "school" but it is really just a Mother's Day Out program, 3 days a week , from 9 - 1. Well, they had a GREAT first day and I had a GREAT first day working while they were at school. While they are at school I will be teaching Pilates to my clients. I now have six clients and I am LOVING my job! I am extremely blessed with wonderful clients and a wonderful studio in our home! So happy I get to do something that I love!

Anyways, back to Lukella. Stefan and I went together to bring them to their first day of school. I woke up early to get myself dressed and get their lunches made. Then I had to make sure everything was picked up and that my studio was ready for my first client. I went to check on Luke in his room and he was sitting on his bed. I guess he was so excited about school that he didn't want to sleep anymore. As I went to sit on his bed to chat with him he flew into my arms, hugged my neck tight and said, "Mom, thank you so much for bringing me to school today!". Yep, I would have to say he was pretty excited. After getting Lukella dressed and backpacks packed it was time to head to school. We went to Ella's classroom first. Gave her hugs and kisses and she ran right in. No crying! Big girl! Then, we went to Luke's classroom. He picked out his cubby for the year and he was off to play with friends. My babies are growing up. Gave the hubby a hug and kiss and we were off to work =)

When I went to pick Lukella up at 1 I couldn't wait to hear about their day. When I saw Ella she ran to me screaming, "MOMMMYYYY!". Yay! She missed me. Then, she went on to tell me and pointed out the little boy that pulled her pig tails and squeezed her cheeks! Ha! Guess he thought she was pretty cute. Then we were off to get Luke. The teacher informed me that when it was time to count to 30....Luke decided to stand up in front of the class and teach his fellow classmates how to count to 30 in sign language. Looks like his teacher will have a great helper this year!

So happy they had a great first day and they loved their teachers and their teachers loved them. Praying we will have a great year. After I picked the kids up we came home and played with Honey and Poppy. They are thrilled their grandparents are here to play with them for 2 whole weeks. Today we went to see "Cars 2". We all had so much fun! Here are two pictures of Lukella. I am off to get ready for my duet session I have in a few hours.

I am still working on Game #2. Don't worry...this W.G. has not forgotten!

Lukella ready to walk out the door for their first day of school! Ella LOVES babies right now. She strapped the baby in her car seat for her to rest while she was at school. Oh yeah, and the babies name is Ella too ;)

Lukella with their snack packs ready to see "Cars 2". It was a cute movie but I have to agree with most of my friends that the first one was better. But we definitely enjoyed ourselves...and our popcorn with Honey and Poppy!

First Game 8/19/2011

The first game we played this season was against Lexington Christian Academy. This was a team CAL had not beaten in about 7 years. So, this was a huge first game for Stefan as a Head Coach. And first game for me as a Water Girl. We were both very excited. I think I was A LOT more nervous than him. Nothing new. I honestly didn't eat much all game day because I was so nervous. It is really sad because Stefan is not even out there playing anymore and taking big hits. I have always been superstitious on game days for whatever reason and decided I needed to wear my lucky Seven jeans I wore to Stefan's games when he was a Senior at UofL. I had a RED shirt (yall know I am not wearing blue) and I was given a fabulous visor from the Coach to wear on game days. I put my game day gear on and I was ready for some football. As I kissed Lukella bye, I walked outside and thought I was going to cry when I saw the dark clouds. I love me some football but I HATE rainy games. So not fun and so not exciting. Rainy games go a little something like this...run the ball. That's all. So I ran back inside looking for a poncho when all I could find was this awful Winnipeg Blue Bomber one. Really? Yuck! I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. I decided to bring it just in case while praying at the same time that it would not rain. I had a visor on for crying out loud and the top of my head was going to get wet. Not cool! Walking up to the gate I was feeling a little awkward. Coaches wives get in the games for free. But I am not one to walk up and say ,"Hey! I am a Coaches wife" and walk right in. I was trying to think of how to say it without feeling so weird. Then, I saw the Secretary that works in Stefan's department driving a golf cart around and hopped in with her for a ride to the field. Phew! That was easy =)

When I arrived at my water station I was so excited for some reason. I had my own space to pour Gatorade in some green cups. That's what the Coach told me to do. Easy cheesy. Coach said there was going to be some little boys to do the water bottles. This was exactly how I wanted to be watching the games. On the sidelines and not having to worry about listening to peoples rude comments. Seriously, I am almost 31 now and I am so over that. The weather was clear now and it felt SO good out. My prayers were answered. I wouldn't have to wear that Bomber poncho after all. What a great night for football! The stands were packed and everyone was wearing their red shirts because it was a RED out! I was in heaven!

When the game started I got to go and watch it on the sidelines with the team. Best seat in the house. I also got to see how feisty my husband is as a Coach. Oh my word! Those poor Refs. Follow this link to see what I am talking about. Coach was pretty upset about a LATE helmet to helmet hit on his QB with NO flag!

http://www.wdrb.com/story/15336502/lefors-excited-to-lead-cal-football-program

When I looked around I noticed I did not see ONE water boy. Ummm, where are they Coach?? I took the empty water bottles and started filling them up. Once they were done I noticed my Gatorade cups were running low. So, I ran over there to fill those up. This was what I did the whole game if yall are wondering. Running from the water station to the Gatorade station and catching a little bit of the game on the sideline. At one point I hear the team yell "WATERRR!" all turning around and looking at ME. It was a time out. Do they think I am about to run out on the field with water bottles. Ummm, NO! So, I was like, "FRESHMANNNN!". That's right...I got some of the players to do that job. I love being the water girl but I had to draw a line on running out onto the field.

I was pretty busy that night. The game was back and forth. It came down to the last few seconds of the game and our defense held them from scoring and we won with 9 seconds left on the clock. 27 to 25. What a game! I was SO thrilled for Stefan's first win as a Head Coach! I was so thrilled for all of the players and finally beating this team for the first time in so long! It was just a perfect way to start the season. Here is a link to the game stats:

http://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/khsaa/kyfb11/stats_35056_4099

When the team was finished congratulating LCA I was off to find my Coach. Once I found him I definitely thought it was a perfect time for a pic. I think everyone knows by now that I LOVE to take pictures. So, we took our picture together. Ohhh so not cute! What in the world is on top of my head??? I guess I had been pushing my visor back all night that I had a big poof on the top of my head. Yall know...the Snooki poof? Noooo! I insisted on a re-take. Coach rolled his eyes and said I was fine (yea right!). Once I convinced him I looked like Snooki we took one more. And I love it!

Yay CAL!!!!!

Great pic of Coach congratulating a player after a good play!!!!

After the game we were feeling good! Record: 1-0. Since the team won I would get to bake some chocolate chip cookies. I was excited! Lukella were also pumped because they love handing them out to the players on Thursdays. Well, Ella is the one who usually chases them down and gives them their cookie bag ;)

Will be updating my take of game #2 soon....

Ella's GOOD LUCK kiss wasn't good enough!

Last night was our third game of the season at North Oldham....which is pretty much out in the country! I usually don't eat on game days because I am so nervous. Well, I wasn't too nervous this game day so I decided to eat my normal meals. The drive out to North Oldham was very nice...and quiet! Love my Friday night date nights on the field under the big pretty lights. Once I arrived and started walking to my water station I noticed the boys we were about to play were pretty big. So, I decided to ask someone what class they were in. CAL is 2A. I found out they were a 4A team. Oh yeah, at this moment I started to get nauseous and wished I hadn't eaten all of the food I had all day! I stayed calm and thought we can handle this. We looked good the first half. We played hard and we were only down 2 points at half. 16 to 14 was what the scoreboard read. Not bad! Speaking of half time...one of the assistant trainers came and asked me if I wanted to help hand out peanut butter sandwiches to the players at half time. I was like what in the world are you talking about. Sure enough she showed me a Tupperware of beautifully sliced pb sandwiches. That was a first!

Anyways, as the game went on it only got worse and I felt so bad. I felt like I was the only one yelling and there wasn't anything I could do but hand out water and purple Gatorade. When the buzzer went off the final score was 44 to 14. My heart hurt for my hubby, the coaches and the players. I know how much time they put in every week and how hard they are practicing. The only thing I could think of is that it could be worse...at least we have won one game so far this season. As I went to console the Coach after the game I heard over the loud speakers that the cheerleaders were selling Krispy Kreme donuts. Oh yeahhhh, that definitely brought a little smile to my face I must admit. Anyways, I just told him what any coaches wife would say after a loss: "We will get 'em in two weeks (we have a bye week this week....time to make these boys run). Don't worry!". That is all you can say because at the end of the day we are talking just football. This water girl was so tired because the game didn't start until 8:30...because of the heat! They pushed the game back an hour because it was 100 degrees out. I know...crazy right!?! On the way out of the game I bought a dozen of Krispy Kreme donuts and made some spunky cheerleaders night. Little did she know she was going to make the Le4's morning! I thought this might be something to cheer up the Coach when he wakes up. So, of course I bought some. And they were so yummy! And Lukella enjoyed them too!

At breakfast I had to break the news to Luke that Dad's team lost. He said. "Awww MAN! Well, at least the CARDS won!". I like his positive attitude. When I had dinner with Lukella before the game Friday night Luke prayed for our pizza and this is what he prayed, "Jesus, please let Dad's football team do good and win. So they can get cookies. Let them listen to the coaches and instructions." Such a sweet boy! Ella was chowing down on her pizza and closing her eyes at the same time if yall were wondering about her ;)

The Coach is off to practice with the team this morning and I am off to paint with Lukella. Happy Saturday to all!

"The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you're not good enough. On occasion some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don't take it personally when they say "no" - they may not be smart enough to say "yes". Starbucks quote #17

Our record : 1 -2 We can only get better!!!
